Brilliant people make assertions, test them, and modify them as needed. I am aiming at being a brilliant person. The more I thought of yesterday’s post, the more forms of wealth I thought of, so today’s post is a modification of forms of wealth. We defined wealth as anything we can use or exchange.

- Time – American writer Margaret Bonanno remarked that being rich is having money; being wealthy is having time. Time has been said to be the greatest non-renewable resource. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. We will never ever see yesterday again. That’s a provocative thought, clung to by all kinds of emotions, not the least of which might be horror. The secret lies in maximizing the time we are given; the trick is that we have no idea how much that is. Whether it is much or little, we can cram a lot of impact into it if we live intentionally and strategically.
- Faith – The benefits of faith have not been sounded. Faith gives us a knowing, a belonging, a resting. Faith in Jesus gives us purpose, joy, power, peace, patience, authority, possessions, hope, positions, confidence, godfidence. With faith, we can please God – and there is no greater purpose. In pleasing Him we find our greatest pleasure.
- Freedom – Described as liberty rather than confinement or physical restraint, dictionary.com defines freedom as exemption from external control, interference, or regulation, etc. It is the power to determine action without restraint. I think of freedom as the power to choose without undue coercion. We can have spiritual, political, personal, financial, intellectual, cultural freedom among other forms. One of the most luxurious forms of freedom is to have and intelligently use time not just as you choose, but as you should. With it we get to enjoy personal well-being and society flourishes.
- Integrity – Integrity is unwavering adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values. I person of integrity cherishes honesty, truthfulness, and consistency in one’s actions and beliefs. In math, an integer is a whole number. Integrity signifies an internal “wholeness” or “completeness,” where an individual’s conduct aligns with their core values, even when unobserved. A person of integrity is the same person inside and outside. They aspire to do the right thing, regardless of circumstances, without falling into the attractive trap of people-pleasing. This builds trust and fosters strong personal, spiritual, and professional relationships. A person of integrity takes responsibility for their actions, communicates openly, and strives for continuous self-improvement. Ultimately, integrity is about living authentically and without hypocrisy, ensuring one’s words and deeds are always in harmony with their principled convictions.
- Beauty – Creating, noticing, and appreciating beauty is a concept unique to humans and is one of the ways we are like God. Beauty, which is a subjective experience, fosters a deeper connection to oneself, others, and the God. Engaging with beauty, whether in nature, art, or human expression, can elevate one’s spirit and lead to a sense of wholeness and purpose. This practice encourages mindfulness, allowing individuals to step away from daily preoccupations and experience something more profoundly transcendent. Embracing beauty as a spiritual practice can lead to personal transformation, fostering a more compassionate and fulfilling existence.
