“We do hard things!” If I heard my friend Beth say that once, I heard it a thousand times. We had the privilege of being stay at home moms and raised our kids together. That principle has stayed with me to this day. We said it to the kids when they whined about how hard their life was.

Today, James started US Marine Corps Crucible. Here’s a short video on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nobhtB4rDt8. They started at about 2am and began with a 6-mile hike to the Crucible site. This made for a remarkably emotional day for me. My friend Melody made me a gorgeous decal for my lantern, and I carried that lantern with me everywhere I went today. I have maximum respect for all of Lima Company. James, I trust that you are leaning heavily on Jesus for this test that you have been preparing for since you were just a little tyke. I thank God for you. I bet you are a great encouragement to your buddies. You are an amazing man!
